At DKMS, we offer the AVAC as an additional service, to determine if the donor is still willing and available to donate. Please note that the aim of the AVAC is solely to check the donor’s availability from a scheduling point of view and does not include a health check. Cases that are subject to approval by our medical advisors, such as subsequent donations or a fourth + Mononuclear Cell Collection, are excluded from this service.
You can request an AVAC by sending the completed request form to our Workup teams. The form can be downloaded below.
Once we have received the completed form, one of our Workup Case Managers will contact the donor to confirm their willingness and availability to donate. The Case Managers will also discuss the donation process with the donor and answer any questions they might have. If the donor confirms that they are willing and available to donate, we will inform the Search Coordinator so they can submit a workup (WU) request.
