Bioinformatics

Our team develops software for external use as well as to support our network at DKMS. This includes typing software used by our DKMS Life Science Lab in Dresden, as well as search and matching software used by the DKMS Registry.

The Bioinformatics team also supports our HLA services team in the delivery of our quality projects. The team develops software solutions to enable the analysis of the database and to search for donors who are eligible for these projects.

Together with other DKMS departments and external partners, our Bioinformatics team works to expand technical interfaces and collaboration with registries around the world. This enables search coordinators and transplant centers to have full access to the advanced typing profile of our DKMS donors, regardless of which registry they are searching. This means that they are able to select the most suitable donor for their patient as quickly as possible.
