Workup

Once a donor has been identified as the best possible match for a patient in need of a transplant and the decision is made to proceed with a donation, our Workup teams are responsible for the next steps.

About us

The teams work together with our donors, the collection center and the transplantation center or registry.

Our teams maintain very close contact with the donor, clarify any potential questions and guide them through the process, always ensuring that they have all the information they need. Our teams also organize all details related to the physical examination and the actual donation. If necessary, the teams will also organize the courier to transport the stem cell product and take care of the travel and accommodation for the donor.

Working closely with both the collection center and transplant center or registry, our teams check all relevant documents and arrange the necessary appointments. Our Workup teams are also responsible for coordinating the timely forwarding of the donor’s final clearance from the collection center to the transplant center, before the donation can take place.

We have a Workup team at each of our locations that takes care of all requests for donors living in the respective country.

A detailed description of all requests that are part of the workup process can be found below.
