Donor Navigator® Web Application

Donor Navigator® is provided free of charge to transplant centers, search center and registries worldwide that want access to DKMS donors.

With the Donor Navigator® web application you can request more than eleven million donors from DKMS donor centers in Germany, the UK, Poland, Chile, India and South Africa. It provides easy access not only to HLA typing information and additional markers (e.g., CCR5, KIR, MICA/MICB), but also to further donor data such as CMV status, date of last contact, etc. Everything is presented in a simple and clear format, making it easier to select your patient’s best matching donor.

Using Donor Navigator®, you can initiate the following standard request types: Typing requests, Confirmatory Typing (CT), Health and Availability Check (HAC), Infectious Disease Marker (IDM) testing, Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPC) Apheresis/Bone Marrow (workup) and Mononuclear Cell (MNC) Apheresis.

The user can initiate requests for DKMS donors and track the progress of a running request easily. An automated, user-specific notification system via email informs the users about important updates of requests such as available typing results, IDM results or cancellations of requests.

Who can use Donor Navigator?

All stem cell registries worldwide and transplant centers, which independently and autonomously conduct the worldwide donor search, can use Donor Navigator® to search for matching DKMS donors for their patients. The initiation and tracking of requests for DKMS donors is not possible for partners in the USA and Germany.

The use of the web application is an added value for registries that are not connected with DKMS Registry via EMDIS. Using Donor Navigator® saves a lot of time and effort because sending request forms via email is no longer necessary. In Donor Navigator, request forms are automatically filled with existing data, such as patient information, donor information and transplant center contact information and can, therefore, be sent with just a few clicks.

When registries that are already connected to the DKMS Registry via EMDIS register for Donor Navigator®, they will find all patient information and donor requests which they have exchanged with DKMS Registry via EMDIS. Also, workup requests, which cannot be initiated via EMDIS, can be initiated in the already existing cases in Donor Navigator®.

Established transplant centers and search units that operate independently of a national patient registry can also gain access to Donor Navigator.

Are you interested in using the application? Please send the completed form to donornavigator@dkmsregistry.org.

Registration and use of the software are completely free of charge. After registering, we will provide free online training to show you how to use the application to speed up and simplify your donor search.
