The DKMS Registry offers software tools to transplant centers and registries worldwide, enabling an independent search of the DKMS donor pool (except DKMS US) for a matching donor for their patient.
If the software identifies a suitable donor, the user is able to initiate any type of donor requests (from typing request to workup request) in the software with the least possible effort.
The current status of a request can be viewed in the software at any time. In addition, the user is informed via email notification when results become available or if a request has been canceled.
The standard software tool is called Donor Navigator®. It is provided free of charge to transplant centers, search centers and registries worldwide.
The extended tool is called Hap-E Search and is provided to transplant centers in Chile, India and other countries without a national bone marrow donor registry.
Registration for any tool is only provided to professionals in the field of stem cell transplantation (search coordinators, transplant coordinators, physicians); it is free of charge and includes an online introduction to the software and its features. Access to the software requires two-factor authentication using RSA SecurID.
With the Donor Navigator® software, international registries, search units and transplant centers can search and request more than ten million donors from DKMS donor centers in Germany, the UK, Poland, Chile, India and South Africa. It provides easy access not only to HLA typing information and additional markers (e.g., CCR5, KIR, MICA/MICB), but also to further donor data such as CMV status, date of last contact date, etc. Everything is presented in a simple and clear format, making it easier to select your patient’s best matching donor.
Using Donor Navigator®, you can initiate the following standard request types: Typing requests, Confirmatory Typing (CT), Health and Availability Check (HAC), Infectious Disease Marker (IDM) testing, Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPC) Apheresis/Bone Marrow (workup) and Mononuclear Cell (MNC) Apheresis. (Please note that donor requests are only available for users outside the USA and Germany. Furthermore, donors from DKMS UK are not available for users in the UK, nor are DKMS donors from Poland available for users in Poland.)
Another benefit of Donor Navigator® is the quick online completion of the workup forms: The forms are automatically filled with existing data, such as patient information, donor information and transplant center contact information.
Do you want to apply to use the software? Please download and fill out the registration form and send it to donornavigator@dkmsregistry.org.
Hap-E Search enables transplant center physicians or coordinators to independently search for and request more than nine million unrelated stem cell donors at DKMS DE, DKMS UK, DKMS PL, DKMS CL and DKMS-BMST IN.
Additionally, transplant centers in India and Sri Lanka are able to search and request donors registered with the Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI), Mumbai, via the software.
Requests for DKMS donors can be initiated and the progress of a running request can be tracked via the software. In addition to an automated, user-specific notification system via email, the users are informed about important updates of requests such as available typing results, IDM results or cancellations of requests by our DKMS search coordinators.
Further details regarding the services included for Hap-E Search users are described in our Hap-E Search service categories below.
If you are working at a transplant center in Chile, India or another country without a national bone marrow donor registry and you want to apply to use the software directly, please fill out the registration form and send it to hapesarch@dkmsregistry.org.
Please note that a positive evaluation of your transplant center is a prerequisite for using the software. If your transplant center is not yet evaluated, please also fill out the evaluation form and send it to hapesearch@dkmsregistry.org.
