Search Support for Transplant Centers

DKMS Registry offers a special support program that focuses on transplant centers in South Africa, Chile, Colombia and India. However, this service is not limited to transplant centers in these three countries: It applies to all transplant centers in need of access to unrelated donors and without a national registry to take on this task. DKMS Registry can support these transplant centers in their search for matched unrelated donors for their patients.

The support program includes

  • Free use of the Hap-E Search software (web tool to manage patients and to search for unrelated donors)
  • Worldwide donor search at WMDA Search & Match Service
  • Search report (incl. DKMS and non-DKMS donors) within one working day
  • Support with donor selection by experienced search coordinators
  • Direct access to request DKMS donors (except DKMS US donors)
  • Free Search for DKMS donors (no costs until you proceed with a request of a donor for workup)
  • Support in the requests of international donors (not standard; individual agreements with the transplant centers required)

In line with our standards, a positive evaluation of the transplant center by DKMS Registry according to WMDA criteria is a prerequisite for participating in the support program. You can find more information about transplant center evaluation in our DKMS Operational User Guide.
